The flat was deadly quiet as Sherlock and John walked up the front steps, the case solved and the criminal caught with only minor scrapes and bruises. John was too exhausted to really notice the emptiness but Sherlock did and it put him on edge. The next few days involved lots of running around and Sherlock pacing or thinking while you and John unsuccessfully tried to convince him to eat and sleep.
